First Ascent Apple Jacket Review

Apple Jacket Review

Carry the Apple Jacket on the back of you harness

The Apple Jacket is a windproof, water resistant shell with a full zip weighing in at a mere 95g!

The fit is great. It comes down bit further over the back to ensure that your waist is never exposed – even when lifting your arms up high or bending forward to tie your shoelaces. The arms seemed a bit long for the size but this would be a benefit if you were really cold and wanted to cover your hands.

On the run:
The sturdy zipper allows you to keep the jacket around your waist after removing your arms and tying the sleeves around the waist.  When it becomes cool again, simply undo the sleeves from around the waist and put the jacket back on (all this without having to stop).

On the rock:
Minimalists will love the Apple Jacket.  It fits into its own stuff-pouch and can be easily clipped onto the back of your harness/pack.  You’ll hardly notice it because it weighs so little!

The Yosemite team each took one to the Valley in October and they were great! You could see us battling our way down waterfalls off of the FreeRider like a team of litle lumo apple-jacket ants!
