Tomoko Ogawa of Japan has become the first woman to climb 8B+ (V14), in an incredible effort cranking out the horizontal roof of Catharsis in Shiobara. Put up by Dai Koyamada, Catharsis is some 20 moves, powering on pockets, with a full body turnaround.
Good things came in threes for Ogawa: Success was third try Oct. 20, after a three-year quest.
