The guy who filmed the skater was on KFM radio earlier talking about the footage.
He mentioned that run shown in the video was an easy / relaxed ride and that the skater is very experienced. He basically likened it to free solo climbing.
Also stressed that minimum safety gear is a helmet and gloves and that if you hit a car that its your fault
I don’t know why this is being called irresponsible, he’s obviously totally in control and has better road manners than most South African drivers. Leave the guy alone, go arrest the lunatic who stopped dead in the N2 center lane last night with no lights.

whats the speed limit at that spot?
My cousin Dan used to do this kind of thing on rollerblades all the time. It was his standard mode of transport around the city
Speed limit there is 60km
