Sangwon Son from Korea sends La Rambla 37/9a+

31 year old ‘Sangwon Son’ from Seoul, South Korea, has sent La Rambla (37/9a+/5.15a) in Siurana, Spain.

8a.nu reports that Sangwon spent 2 weeks on the route a year ago, with a further 5 weeks of working towards a redpoint.  His hardest route before was Kinematrix (36/9a) at the Gorges du Loup in France.

Alexander Huber first climbed the lower section of La Rambla in 1994 at grade 35/8c+.   In 2003, Spanish climber Ramón Julián Puigblanque bolted the top section of the route and giving it a 9a+ grade.
Other climbers to have send the route include:  Edu Marín and Patxi Usobiaga, Chris Sharma, Adam Ondra, and several others.  In March, German Alex Megos ticked La Rambla after only two attempts.
