A rockfall in Northern Italy has damaged a house, barn and vineyards. It is estimated that more than 4,000 cubic meters of rock broke off a cliff on January 21.
The 300-year-old barn was destroyed completely by one of the boulders, that boulder came to rest in a field near a second boulder, which appears to have been dislodged during a previous rock slide.
A third boulder stopped metres away from the main house. The property is owned by the Catholic Church and the damage is said to run into the millions! There were no injuries as a result of the rock fall.
Geologists are concerned that more slides could take place and residents have been evacuated.
