Jimmy Webb, Daniel Woods, Arjan De Kok + others have been exploring a few roadside attractions of late. In particular just off the road in Du Toit’s kloof.
From the all comments and photos the guys are obviously finding incredible problems and having loads of fun!!
At that other boudler area that you know ;) Arjan managed to grab a FA called Luislang (8A+) calling it his ‘proudest FA to date’. The problem is a super stunning wave boulder on perfect sandstone, classic formation on orange and black rock.
Then at Weighbridge (the boulder field on the Worcestor side of Du Toit’s Kloof), Jimmy Webb fired a FA called “Khoikhoi” 8B+ (and he is calling it one of his proudest ascents).
Behind Arjan’s house in De Doorns Jimmy sent another first ascent called “Son Krag” 8B+ (In Afrikaans it means the power of the sun.. and it’s a suiting name because this thing sits in the sun all day long). Jimmy initially did the route with stand start at 8B, but gave it a ‘+’ once he had done the sit start.
On the same boulder Daniel Woods opened an 8B called ‘Welcome to Jamrock’.
With a few more weeks to go, it will be interesting to see what else the crew get up to!
