Registration for Boulder League 2017 is R 50.00 (once off payment), and you have to sign an indemnity form. There is no commitment to attend all rounds. You can attend as many/as few as you choose (unless you want to qualify to compete in the Nationals – see point 4 below)
Subsequent rounds are R 10.00 each week

To save trees and admin we won’t have paper scorecards. Keep track of what you climb and complete your own scores on the online scorecard submission form (be honest – big bouldering brother is watching you)

NB. If you make it to Nationals, you are required to pay both the R250 Western Cape Climbing Annual Membership Fee and the R190 SANCF South African National Climbing Federation Annual Membership Fee in order to compete.

If there are any new keen bean setters out there who might be available to help set for BL, drop an email to wp.boulder.league@gmail.com. Setters are still able to compete in the league, and their registration and weekly fee are waived 🙂

    Boulder League Round 1

UCT climbing wall, UCT fitness centre, Woolsack drive

Since it’s the first round, and it’s at a small venue – we will open the climbing from 4pm until closing at 9pm. Hopefully we can spread people out so it’s not too chaotic.
If it’s your first time at Boulder League don’t be scared by the chaos! It calms down after Round 1, and other venues have more space.
But saying that – PLEASE be careful – always be aware of people climbing above you!

Please note that the first 5 rounds of Boulder League are qualifying rounds, to be selected for the Western Cape Climbing provincial team for the SANCF South African National Climbing Federation National Bouldering Comp to be held 1st – 2nd April. You have to attend these 5 rounds if you want to qualify for the Nationals.
