Rock Climing Mattress (3mx1.5m)

Post by julianhewitt » Mon Mar 07, 2016 6:49 am

My girls (aged 5 and 7) have really started to enjoy rock climbing and I am keen to support their interest. We are lucky to live in an original koppie stone farm house. The inside and outside walls make for excellent bouldering and I am looking to buy a 3m x 1.5m vinyl covered mattress to place under the various climbing routes. Where can I purchase or make up a mattress like this. I am not looking for a bouldering pad which won't give them enough coverage but the kind of thicker gym mattresses that once often finds in climbing gyms. Pretoria based so a Joburg / Pretoria supplier is best

Thanks for the recommendations Dirk and Emile. I am nearby Centurion today and will pop over to Gimtrac. What thickness did you go for Emile?

400mm I believe, the normal high-jump pads type. I've taken a proper fall or two on it, well worth it.
