i want to start a boulder wall in durbanville, any ideas as to a loctaion

Medics at Tygerberg Hosptital have a climbing wall in the sportshall on the top floor of the Student Centre. Membership is something like R100 per year. I also live in Durbanville and I go train there. Nice wall and friendly bunch of guys who run it.

How does one get access to the tygerberg wall? I live in durbanville too and am keen to do some bouldering as I recover from a mountain bike injury

The wall is managed by guys named Stephan and Lukas. I suggest trying to track either one of them down by phoning the Medics Campus reception desk and asking for the climbing wall manager.

Alternatively and maybe easiest: go to the student centre and go to the gym on the ground floor and tell them you want to climb at the wall. They have all the application forms with them. It'll take you 5min to fill in and one of the gym guys will go unlock the sportshall (where the wall is) for you.

Hint: the hall can be very quiet and lonely, most of the Medics guys train Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 5 to 6. It'll help a lot to take a portable CD player/Ipod and some good tunes! I'm normally go there on Mondays or Tuesdays, send me a pm and maybe we can meet up there sometime.

this is all fine, i used to climb there as well, but want to start
a wall for general public. There has been a few incidents on the
medical campus and security has effectivly blocked access to

, sport administrator has even affirmed the closure of the wall to
anyone not a medical student. although luke will give you access
to the wall from the student centre, it is access to the centre
via the boomgate that is problematic
