I started indoors climbing last year sept in france (level 5c = 17/18?) and would like to get experiences outdoors. Will only be in the Cape between 20/02 and 03/03 and can't offer a high level partnership as I will need some guidance myself.
What is the best way to get into contact with the people who can help me?
I'm keen on joining a party and patiently learn what I need to. I'm a good hiker, love the Cape (lived there for 10years) and I'm willing to do long inland outings. Willing to hire a guide with other people in similar case to safely acquire the basics.
I'll pack my shoes, harness, belay but won't have all the other material (i suppose that could be hired?)

Most of Cape Town's climbing community climbs at City Rock, that'd be your best bet to pick up a partner for climbing outdoors

Go hang out at Lower Silvermine Main crag from about 2pm on a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. On occasion I have done this before and had great success. It helps if you have your own equipment, a sharp eye for questionable belaying and most importantly bring confidence, patience and good humour.

the flaw with this strategy is it does kill a bunch of time, and you may not get on what you like. Hitch-hiking for climbers
