The R60, which is the road connecting the N2 from Swellendam to Ashton (and Montagu) is closed for the time being.

More on iol.co.za - IMO the Bruinjiesriver road (the alternative route) is a great scenic drive on a good dirt road.
They say the road should be open within the next 2 weeks.

There is also a nice river pool next to the road. There is some good swimming and lounging on the rocks there, no costume required ;) #justsaying

Mmmhhhmm... the route around the road damage is a lovely dirt road and very scenic. It's not a big diversion.
