I will be visiting SA in September and plan to visit Montagu for a couple of days in early September. Is there a current guidebook or topos on the area? Anyone feel like showing me around??

Hi Peter. The guide you're looking for is called \"Western Cape Rock\" which covers pretty much all sport climbing in the Cape area. It's available at climbing shops and Exclusive Books. Last I checked, it was going for about R180 or something. Can unfortunately not join you on the Montagu mission. Have a blast!

De Bos is definately the place to stay. Awesome chilled spot.
The first time we went to Montague we booked into the municipal campsite. It happened to be the \"South African caravan Association\" weekend away. What a mess. Caravans in circles, okes with beer boeps so big they looked pregnant watching the rugby on their portable satellite dishes, hundreds of screaming kids running around wrecking havoc from 5am until midnight. We definately felt like outsiders sitting in our tiny 2 man tent in-between huge 6 bedrom caravans fully equiped with fridges, microwaves, washing lines, dvd players and the kitchen sink.

It was a deeply disturbing experience.
