Help! Please! - if you can.

We (Guy Paterson-Jones) and I have been doing a whole bunch of work on a previously unclimbed wall on Table Mountain above the Captain Hook abseil block. This is also where Scaredy Cat and Eternity Road finish. I have had a gear stash above this wall, close to where the Abseil Africa station is i.e. about 5m below and out of sight of the view platform. My pack was stuffed under a very low overhang.

An hour ago I shot up to collect this stash and it's gone. It consisted of a blue waterproof kloofing backpack (with the roll-closure top), a 100m static rope, a bunch of shorter statics, a stack of screwgate biners, a mini-traxion and some other stuff.

Please help if you can - with the kit or information. I urgently need this stuff and would be super-grateful for any help.

Thanks peeps,
Hilton

Thanks for your help on this Justin. Nyet. Nothing so far.
We're heading out to Klein Winterhoek at 1pm and I'm gonna do a dash up TM to talk to the AA guys en route.

Howdy peeps

Following a week of running around and chasing leads I have recovered my kit!

One of the Abseil Africa guys, Govan, had taken my stash home. I haven't been able to speak directly to Govan and so I don't know his reasons for doing this. Normal Abseil Africa protocol would require him to hand the backpack in at the office in Long Street and to inform the Ops Manager and office staff. Trevor Ball, the owner and an old friend, was very helpful as were three of his people.

Justin Lawson, Richard Halsey, Dave Vallet, Sam Jack, Brenda Marx and others - thanks a stack.

over and out,
Hilton
