I want to set up a bouldering cave at my church. but need to submit a pretty lengthy report including things like costs, and indebtnity and stuff.
Anybody done anything like this previously? I need all the help I can get!

You can build a wall/cave for any amount of money - you need a budget and then you can decide how to spend it best.

Where are you based (city/town)? Maybe some climbers in your area can get over to help.

If it's going to be attached to the side of a building, you need to get a building inspector or architect or somebody to determine if the structure will be able to withstand the forces applied on it by people hanging and swinging on the wall. That's about as much as I know

In some/most municapal areas you are allowed to put up temporary structures like car ports with out a plan. There are very little forces on a boulder cave, just weighting. Go for it...

Best place in SA for grips was always Art Rox, Jayren Taljaard (031) 3372755 (w) After hours (031) 701 7482 or ttaljaard@clover.co.za , But I'm not sure if these details are still current. They had 350 diffrent grips to chose from in 2003. He planed to have more variety of grips than Metolious (450) in a few years.

Are you sure a church is a good place for boulderers?

That said, it's not particularly cheap - a friend and I spent about a grand all told on a campus board - which was a single panel, with no purchased holds. And as far as I can remember, the angle-iron was donated too.
