Looking to start a club for rock climbing in the Northern Suburbs (for those of us that live across the boerewors divide) of Cape Town. I have no prior experience of rock climbing, so someone with previous rock climbing experience would be appreciated. Anyones welcome :P !

E-mail me at larhoodie@gmail.com. Hope to hear from anyone soon :D !

Agh, considering that rock climbing is a dangerous sport I dont think thats a wise idea.

Hire a guide, do a course, learn to climb, all of those things that rock climbers do and then think about it.

Its kinda like starting a skydiving club without knowing how to skydive. SPLAT!

What exactly do you want to do? Build a wall somewhere in a garage, have get-togethers on weekends, start a climbing gym?

Will this club have a name? ooh Ive got one Daring adventures....no in all seriousness rather try out climbing by doing a basic intro course before buying any gear, then if you like it invest in your own harness, shoes, screwgate and belay device. Starting your own club with others who have no experience puts your life and theirs in danger. Seeking the proper instruction will ensure you have many enjoyable years in this great sport.
