We are going to climb at Wolfberg in December this year. Is it safe to leave our backpacks (no food inside), shoes,... at the bottom of the routes ? We are a bit concerned about the monkeys.

Have never seen a monkey near the climbing area. I did see a bunny once, but that was over easter :D

There's a lot of monkeying about that goes on up there but there are no monkeys of the simian type in the W Cape. Baboons are around but won't bother you.

We arrived at Sandrift once with the crag occupied by a troop of baboons. They put on a good show and really impressed us with their dynamic climbing skills 30m off the deck. And I don't mean off big jugs or ledges, but off really small grips. And big double body dynos. I don't think these are the poorly trained Cape Point variety that will nick your picnic basket.

When Justin teaches me how to insert pics I will put the pics of the dyno-ing monkeys on the site :-)
