I spent the Christmas/ New Year at Hueco Tanks in Texas and was blown away by not only the area (Better than Font and Rocklands in my opinon) but also the number of hard boulderers.
I didn't realise quite how many there were...! In my 1 week stay, I met well over 30 boulderers cranking 8a and harder. Also loads of girls climbing 7b and up. Apparently Bishop has a similar number during season. I asked a few ppl to estimate the total number of US climbers cranking 8a and up and the consensus was at least 1500 !!!! (Although not everyone was clear headed at that point

) Pretty dam.n phenomenal if you ask me!!
It seems to be easier in the US to lead a lifestyle condusive to cranking (i.e. little or no work)
Or maybe we are just weak and lazy?
