Hey all

I know this is a bit of a general question, but how do you guys keep from getting filthy when sleeping in caves?
Putting a tent up seems a bit much inside a cave.

Cheers

What are you doing in the caves that you are getting dirty? Or for that matter, which caves are you using? I have slept in various caves and never had an issue with getting dirty (and that includes a muddy Pillar Cave last year). Just put your stuff on rocks and put a space blanket or something under your ground mat.

Get yourself a decent Poncho! Does well in the rain and chuck it down as a ground sheet in the cave.

We did the Grand Traverse last year in the Drakensberg and we slept in a cave that was wet and muddy. Just chucked my poncho down and I slept well. In the morning, if everything's still wet you roll it up, chuck it in a plastic bag and pack it. When the sun's out and you're chowing breakfast or gobbling down some lunch, roll it out in the sun. When it's dry you just brush the hardened mud, grass and dust off and it's good to use for the next night.
