Hi all, I was just wondering on your thoughts about this crag for both bolted and some trad climbing.
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 688&type=1

We down here in George are limited in what we have to climb and are trying to develop new areas. We found this crag and it is only 80km from George on a farm in the Langkloof.
The farmer seems keen on the idea too.

Some really nice high, vertically dipping walls of quartzite, with cracks and slabs/etc.
There is a nice overhanging section at the start too.

Anyway, hope the photo's show some of it anyway. The album is open for all to see and feel free to question/etc.

We are planning on going back there next weekend to look at bolting a line too (if we can get permission of course).

Cheers,
Cuan

Looks cool. Keep us informed about the bolting permission from the farmer.

How long is the walk-in?

Looks very rad. How big is it height/width wise?

I'm down there in December, I'd love to help if there is someone around then?

Hey guys,

You turn off the main Langkloof road about 20/30 km after Uniondale on the George side onto a farm road and drive on that for about a minute.
Then you park and the walk in is about 5 to 10 minutes up a boulder strewn river bed.

Really simply access. Great potential for overnighting if we can get permission as well though :)

Will kee you posted about bolting. We want to head out there next weekend to bolt if we can get permission.
If anyone with more bolting experience can join us I would be happy to help with accomodation for the weekend.

As for size, the overhanging cave going into the wall must be about 20 m or so. However, on the sides of the poort the walls must go up to over 100m easily and access to them is also easy. Simply walk in from the river bed.

Cheers,
Cuan
