Going to Canada (Rockies) December / January, expected temps around -35C.

Can anyone recommend a good ladies down jacket for the wife?

Not a small mens, as this will be too big. She is looking for a jacket that is a ladies specific cut for a more flattering fit *go figure*.

Any recommendations?

Extreme Glacier Jacket from First Ascent?

Regarding the fit, I would convince her otherwise, at -35 'C tell her that the emphasis is on being warm (which equates to having a good time) - she can sell the jacket after the trip if she wants.

+1 on that.... or even warmer, check the Malamute http://www.firstascent.co.za/product-de ... prodid=751

-35? Sheesh, I'd wear a JuliusM on my back if it kept me warm.

And if she wants to go for a real sexy look how about the Himayalan Down Suit?

Thanks,

Will try and convince her to go for the FA Extreme Glacier jacket. I actually have one of these myself!

Worth having a look at prices on the Mountain Co-op Website to compare prices before you leave? I'm, out of touch with SA prices.

Actually the range on the website is a bit limited, they usually have a lot more stuff in the stores.

Twiga... something to make your wife happy.
I just spoke to First Ascent - There will be a ladies specific down jacket out shortly. Will be available in stores, before the end of the month.

Wow thanks Justin! Going to wait for the FA ladies jacket to become available. I would much rather support the local guys.
