Ten routes encourages climbers to focus on the skill and ability development. Making an effort to balance climbing at the top of your ability with combining multiple routes is a challenge that should be more prevalent in competitions in my opinion. It means that one route won't necessarily break or make your day; but it also means that you can't simply climb the easiest lines around.
The Montagu Rock Rally has an awesome scoring format, very different to the Boven Rock Rally. I loved being in Montagu for the competition last year! I love the idea of a pro category being introduced as it will give some of the less experienced guys a chance to shine and not be pitted against the Montagu superman Matt Bush
He could have probably solo'd all those routes he did in the comp!
I hope to be able to make a bit more time so I can be there next year!!!
