I'm going up Elbrus in July with a team of UCT students and can't afford to buy new plastic boots and crampons. Does anyone have a size 9 to sell second hand/ rent/ lend to me?

Can these not be hired at your destination in Russia?

They certainly hire them in Chamonix and other areas in Europe. Perhaps check with someone who goes fairly regularly, like Sean Disney at Adventure Dynamics International.
