Does anyone know anything about Evolv Evo climbing shoes? Mountain Mail Order is selling them for R695 a pair. To me this price sounds good, but I don't know anything about the quality of the product. Is this a good deal or are these the equivalent of those R500 hiking shoes that you can buy and use for your first 10km of hiking (before they start to break)?

Nothing wrong with Evolv, I've gotten great service from my pair of Royales. Only one thing, velcro is better suited to the gym rather than the outdoors becaue it tends to collect dirt and grass and stops working so well. So great for training shoes maybe not so good for outdoor.

Velcro is great for outdoors too... You just need to treat them with care and close the straps after each use. I love both velcro and lace ups. Both are great, both have their merits.

Nothing wrong with those shoes. Just make sure they fit your feet comfortably before you buy.

I ended up going with Mad Rock Science Friction 3.0's from Bush and Bundu in PMB. I will provide feedback when they have taken them for a spin... :afro:

I use velcros indoors and out. Great for adjustment on the go and slipping off to give your feet a break.
