Howide folks

OK...seing as we are all climbers and rocks are our thing, I am wondering who would be interested in learning a little more about the geology of the WC area?

The Western Cape branch of the Geologcal Society of South Africa often have cool talks and outing to various areas arond Cape Town. These are open to anyone and you pay a small fee (not sure how much, but yearly membership is only like R80).

Anyhoo, whenever I go climbing I end up talking about the rocks/etc (not that I know a whole lot anymore:P).

So, I'll keep people posted about meetings/etc we're having on this topic I guess.

Next weekend 17 November we are going to go have a look at some volcanic rocks just before Langebaan I think (did you know we had volcanics around here?). I plan on taking along a boulder pad in case anything looks interesting.

So if you want to learn a little more about the things you are doing, keep an eye out here, or et me know.
