Does anyone know what the quickest and easiest way is to place a hand placed bolt. I know there is the Petzl version, which uses the drillbit as the sleeve for the bolt.

quick and easy are not adjectives that apply to hand drilling rock!

Why do you want to know this? Hand placed bolts are like \"Whites Only\" signs - something from the 80's that should never be seen in the naughties.

It's cheaper than buying the other bolts... nah, looking to put up some multi-pitch trad stuff and want to take along a hand drill in case...

Don't know about Pretzel, but Troll used to make a self drilling bolt. Do not think for one micro second that this means that it will drill into the rock itself. It fvcking loads of hard work (I got it down to 20 - 45 mins of hammering depending on the rock). Be really careful to inspect the bolt after you've finished drilling, they are prone to cracking. I placed one a Paarl, rapped down the route (which was obviously shite), jugged back up and simply pulled the bolt out (which had broken in half!!!!!!).
