Swinburne - Long Bolt to Freedom

Post by MichaelMiller » Tue Aug 06, 2019 4:27 pm

Hello people

Can anyone please assist me with the latest information to get to long bolt to freedom. The closest I have is on SACIN, however the information seems rather incomplete... So specifically,
How do we get access to the farm (the numbers for Elzeri / Frans doesn't work and I'd hate to bother tannie Ansie)?
Maybe a better description of how to get there?
Does anyone have a map that they can share a picture of?

We're planning on going there this weekend and I would hate not to do this route...

Thanks a million.

Michael

The farm is at approx. -28°22'53 +29°16'36. The climb starts near -28.3890, 29.2768; walk/drive up to Spearhead boulder and then find your way to the base of the climb. Figure it out on Google.

Hopefully somebody else can help with contact numbers - I haven't been there in years.

Enjoy! (and be safe up there: I know a guy who busted a ankle up there when a turkey-head - i.e. FO big chickenhead - came off in his hands).

Contact Annelie on zero seven 2 401-6711. WhatsApp her.

To get there - google maps Appin Guest Farm. Take the only road in and just keep driving past the houses and barn, through a small farm gate and up towards the mountain on a steep narrow dirt road to spear head boulder. Walk from there.

This info is about a year and a half old. It may have changed where to park, etc... contact annelie first to confirm.

Double 50's to descend (acccurately described on SACIN). RTFM, dude.
