Hi All

I drive past this place everyday and it looks like there might be some nice bouldering spots here.
Has anyone ever climbed here before?
If there is anyone out there keen to go check it out and maybe set out some routes please let me know as this is right by my house and I'd be uber keen to go have a proper look. If you have a look on google maps you will see lots of pathways through this place so I reckon going with a few people would be best, i'm not so sure how safe it is. I suspect there might be a few bums lurking in the caves.

I'm a bit of a gimp with google maps and cant upload the exact place, search for kloof road bedfordview or Bill Stewart Municipal Nature Reserve and it will come up.

Let me know what you think.

Cool Beans
Dean

I grew up in East Jo'burg and I'm sure areas like Langerman's kop have a few climbable boulders. Let us know what you find.

Perhaps an embed google maps button on the message composer would be a nice touch?

Hi Dean

Back in the early 90's a buddy and i checked it out. Nothing really to write home about but we did have some fun there. There was some evidence that there where squatters around, but we didnt run into any one. Lots of black jacks though. I deff recommend going with a couple people.
Be safe and have fun.

I lived in Primrose in the early 90s and that used to be my local training spot. You can park in the houses on the left off Ag de Wit Drive on the way up the hill and walk across the road. The lip traverse was a long term project, I eventually solved it with a double heel hook and a swing, quite scary without pads or spotters! Never managed it without heels. There is a second tier higher up with about 3 or 4 probs and options of eliminates.

Stopped going when I got gatvol of having to bury human turd piles, and someone started squatting there.

Rock is ok, bit quartzy and slippery worth avoiding in the heat of the midday sun.
