just would like to know if anyone knows of any sport routes in Clarens and Golden Gate area in the Free State.

Dan i can't answer that question- although i doubt it- however take your bouldering pad down there as that looks better than the sport

If you take the road through Golden Gate (R712) all the way to the other side there is eventually a turn off to the left that is sign posted Kestell. Follow this and keep you eyes open, never climbed on any of it, but there was was some stuff relatively close to the road and it is a relatively nice drive in any case. Nearest sport routes is Swinburne or Harrismith.

not sure what the access issues are, but clocolan is close by and looks amaaaaaaaaazzzing

The rock is very porous sandstone, I don't think it would be a good idea to try to drill holes in it. But it is still worth going there, there are some dinosaur fossils from the late Triassic.
