Hey

I saw the Molopo Canyon in the Northern Cape on South African Walks last night. Has anyone been there, the cliffs looked amazing. It might have some potential, the cliffs are apparently 150m high. It might be an excellent winter crag and the hot springs might soothe some bones after a hard days climb. I wish I had the cash and experience to check this out.

Soft rock? Shouldn't do much damage to ones skull then. I'm sure a few thousand bolts could make the place more appealing though:) :)

I have no idea who the bird was... I was performing some thesis writing avoidance. On the softrock, does it mean you can't bolt it or that you can't place trad gear on it. The website and the TV show seems to think that rock is granite. Funny looking granite.

Granite! Lol, that’s the sandiest granite I’ve ever seen!
When I was there I did some bouldering on a few rocks in the valley. The more I worked a problem the harder the problem became as all the crimps just broke.

You may be able to bolt it, but it is very soft.

The bird that did the Southern Cape Walks, I'd hit it with the angry fist of God. But the bird that did this one was different.

I have some holiday time now. Would a citi golf make it there?
