Petzl Caritool - Rack or Ruin?

Post by PeterHS » Wed Aug 17, 2016 12:10 am

Hi,

Has anyone use the Petxl Caritool - harness tool holder? See the link below:

https://m.petzl.com/LU/en/Sport/Harness ... 7ONXcRXfCQ

Is it a useful option for your rack or does it get in the way and snag your other gear?

I've seen it used and it looks a good idea but would welcome a wider opinion. Also, I have a Mammutt harness so it might not fit as well as with a Petzl harness (the Petzl website does say it can be used with other harnesses).

Again, thoughts please :)

Ciao,

Peter

It's for ice gear. Petzl's one only fits Petzl's harnesses. The BD version fits a wider variety. Only use it when I go ice climbing.
Happy climbing

I have seen attempts to carry ones hexes on it on your harness...

My general impression is that it gets in your way and is fiddly to get gear off. It may be different for ice climbing and the Black Diamond ones look very fantsy!
Really, its not that bad...I think it's my shoes...
