Help please! My Crampons arrived from Canada missing one of the bars between the front and back section - the Customs opened the parcel and must have lost it! I don't have time to ship another to South Africa. Are there any shops in South Africa that supply an item like this?

Another good reason to buy local ;)

There is no Grivel agent in SA. Your only hope would be contact a Grivel supplier elsewhere and have them speed courier the items to you (that is if they sell them separately)!
As a matter of interest did you have to pay any extra tax on the crampons?

Good luck

Hi

Look up engineering firms in your area, or tool and die makers. They ought to be able to help you out. Make sure that they understand they need to make a mirror image and not an exact copy

Thank you for your comments and advice, Justin and Nic.

Actually I am not yet in South Africa so I don't know whether I will pay tax on the crampons when I arrive. And I have been lucky enough that some very kind people on this site have offered to lend me their crampons (Erwil, that is unbelievably generous) or sell/lend me a crampon bar (thank you so much David). Such nice people, climbers!
