Hello guys & girls

I have just started climbing and enjoy the sport so that's awesome :batman: I was about to buy some gear when an opportunity came up to get some second hand stuff. The down side is that he was only selling everything together so i have taken what i need and wish to sell the rest to one lucky buyer. All the stuff i am selling has never been used except maybe the Black diamond Wire gate I'm not sure if they have been used. I think the marks on them is just from being in a bag and being moved around.

Terms:
OK the first guy here with the cash or you can come here and do EFT and show proof of payment. I will make a letter of sale to you if you so wish.

Sell list

Dude, we can get new gear at those prices! Probably cheaper if we put some effort in.

Btw, that is the strangest set of cams I have seen in a while. 5 x 0.4 cams? In the same condition? Are you kidding me? I thought my friend who has 4 #6 nuts (and missing some other sizes completely) is mad. I understand you just bought it all from someone, but damn dude, it sounds like you were either screwed over, or you are taking a fat chance, or both.

Good luck finding that "first" fool to throw money in your direction :afro:

You beat me to it shorti. Very strange rack.

Buy that quantity of gear from a retailer and you could probably wangle 10% (if not more) off the total price.

BD C4 #0.5 retails for R667 with 10% off that's R600 (what you're asking) and you get the peace of mind of knowing where your gear has/has not been.

@UCAB: Please post a photograph of the equipment, all together, and on your couch. This way we can decide if you are serious or not. Also, you will need to drop your prices.

ja boet, we saffas actually shop around...... my last set of pro (3-months ago) cost me R550 for C4s a piece and R85 for wallnuts each (after shipping & taxes) - sincerely hope that you're not going to lose money, but you'll probably have to drop the price by a few notches if you're going to get it sold.

good luck :)

I'm interested in seeing the 3.5 cam :cyclops:

Sorry for being nasty, but I have to ask: Where did you get this stuff? Your mate says it's brand new? Who buys a set of gear like that? Let me explain why I say that. A set of gear like that is really 'special'. No-one would go climb with it. So many small camelots is really not a good idea, those little ones are in Alien territory in any case. What brand nuts are those? Only Wild Country and Omega Pacific goes to 13 (that I can think of at least). Are they made from solid gold? Those big nuts are useless in any case. There isn't a 3.5 cam, but I can accept if you simply meant a number 3. So many 3's is also weird, but maybe you fancied climbing some serious jam cracks. Then there is a Gri Gri between the trad gear - surely no-one does that! So, to get to the point, this just smells a little funny. Do you know the guy who sold you the gear? I'm just asking because someone who buys second hand climbing gear, wants to know where it comes from, they trust their lives in it after all.

My friend, the google, begs to differ:

The black one from before the C4 (thumb loop) days. If this is what it is, I'm def not paying retail prices for pretty old, albeit apparently unused camalots.

OK here are some piks for you guys to look at i hope all the pictures are there. If you guys really want me to put a pik of the gear on my couch i will do so but i can only do it later today after lunch. As for the trad gear the guy i bought if from just bought what he thought he needed and then never used it i dont think he had done much trading.

Good to hear bra!

http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2 ... thing.html

That one^^

@UCAB, no I'm sure you don't actually have to put it on a couch, those will do fine  but if you check out some local (online) stores, that sell, say, mountain gear by mailorder maybe, you'll see that the price you're asking for some stuff e.g. the nuts is even more than what you'd pay fot them brand new. Climbers are stingy buggers bra.

I'm going climbing for a while, if you can get a buyer for the helmet, go for it, I don't really need it. Otherwise we can talk again when I get back. Those cams are old, although still in good looking condition. The nuts are fine, you're just asking way too much - drop the price to R80 and people might be interested. If you don't get the price you want, keep it, learn to use it.
