Riddle
Riddle
Thirty men, with ladies: two
Standing around with nothing to do
Formally dressed in black and white
Yet when they move it starts a fight.
Post only if you think you know so we have something to laugh at. If you know you know, which you will if you know, don't post please.

Re: Riddle
Eish that sounds like a governing body in South Africa...
I hate this real world place... I'd be more than happy to live out there rather...

Re: Riddle
Bwahahaha, Henk and Brian your guesses are hilarious!
Curse you Justin, well done!
It took me waaaaay too long to get the answer and I kicked myself repeatedly and had to endure my friends cracking themselves up for my silly guesses (which I thought was rather clever)

Re: Riddle
I first thought rugby and from there straight to the answer. How does the brain do the connecting the dots thing. I think it quite amazing.

Shorti
You become too predictable when someone knows you for long enough. You are talking about one of your favourite past-times, except for climbing that is..... Very strategic indeed....

Re: Riddle
Damn, I feel so predictable now. Marley I didn't even know that you know that I am in the know with the answer. Anyway, just for entertainment value, before the penny dropped, my best answer was 2 battle ships (ladies) lining up their canons (men) and when the first canon moved it meant a shot was fired and the battle was on. The sails are white and the canons are black and the rest I can't make fit. 30 canons didn't make sense either.

Here’s another one
Rope and rock a harness times two,
Standing around with one pitch to do,
Dressed for the beach, no pro on the rack,
they may know the way but don’t often call “slack”.
What are they doing?

Re: Riddle
hehe, good one Marc.
Grant, is yours for real? Is it one that I'll know if I'm right, otherwise I think it's one only a traddy would find funny

Re: Riddle
Yup Shorti ... it may only bring a smile to a trad climber. But its all in the spirit of humour this thread so why not ...
Re: Riddle
I turn everything around without effort, yet I need not move.

Re: Riddle
Here is one for us climbers. There are two huge towers or pillars: Each 1000m high and 1000m apart. They are 100m wide. You are on top of the one and all you have is a round stone (cricket ball size), a 2m long straight stick with a fork on the end (each prong about 100mm) and endless rope. How would you get to the top of the other tower? (The towers are too wide to wrap a rope around, and too steep and smooth to climb down or up)

Re: Riddle
Feel free to ask for clues.

Re: Riddle
Are the towers under water?
Marc, you're a woman off course!

Read each line aloud without making any mistakes. If you make a mistake you MUST start again without going any further.
