Mt Kenya

A friend and I are heading to try the SE Face route on Mt Kenya in January. Has anyone done it recently that could give us some beta on the route and the glacier condition?

I did it in March. The glacier has split in two and it can be crossed on rock without any trouble. climbing is not really a big deal, it's the abseiling that gets tricky. make sure you get a good explanation of where the stances are. I was with a friend you knows the place so I can't help with that. One of the local guides has backed up and bolted new stances. Contact Julian Wright at African Ascents.
