Flew in to Cape Town from the US. Hoping to get some climbing in around here before heading up to Namibia. Not the best timing with the rain...
Anyway, I only have a single 70 with me. I was hoping there might be a way down from Spitzkoppe that I wouldn’t have to bring a second rope or a pull cord.
I have the Tony Lauren’s book and it seems 50m raps are standard out there?
Any single 70m rope descent options on Spitzkoppe?
Re: Any single 70m rope descent options on Spitzkoppe?
I've never been but there in SA the regular trad setup consists of double 50m/60m ropes and the majority of routes at spitskoppe no doubt are set up like that as they where opened (mostly) by SA climbers

Been there a few times. you will struggle with a single 70 on the majority (if not all) of the multi-pitch climbs. single pitch sport climbs around the SW wall camping area you'll be fine but you'll def miss out....
