Hello Cape Town climbing community!

I will be studying in Cape Town from July- December 2018 and am very keen to get on some rocks! Excited to see Rocklands, Boven etc., but also open to any other suggestions. Some gym climbing in Cape Town would be cool as well, if someone's up for that. Worked as a climbing teacher in Berlin, so my belaying you can trust in :-D

Hope to see some of you soon! :hapban

Any chance you will be in Cape Town a week early for some climbing between 23 June and 1 July?? I will be on holidays there on those dates after a conference and would really love to do some climbing.

Hi there

Do you climb trad or just sport? The trad climbing in Cape Town is amazing. I'll be away for a good piece of July, but will be back in August

Arriving in Cape Town 25th of July! Sorry supaswan, hope you'll find someone ;)

Not much Trad experience yet, would be up to learn though! Surely there's some bolted rock around Cape Town too right?

Greetings

There are quite a few sport crags around the Cape Peninsula, although not all of them are safe to go to anymore. There is a risk of being mugged.

You can take a look at the wiki here: http://www.climbing.co.za/wiki/Cape_Tow ... t_Climbing

Otherwise Paarl and Du Toits kloof also has some good sport climbing and is close enough for a day trip.
