Yes we're takin the leap! Yeha!
Would you believe my wife to be asked to do a climbing honeymoon.... mmm… lets think.. OK!! :thumleft:
We’ve got 10 days up in the Cederberg, ranging from Sandrif, Wolfberg and Tafelberg, up to Rocklands. We’ll be up there from 4th Nov- 13th Nov and CAN’T WAIT!!!
I’m pretty comfortable with all the area’s mentioned except for Tafelberg. Aint been there before although Tony’s guide’s pretty comprehensive. Now this is a bit of a two fold question:
We’ll be up there (Tafelberg) from Monday 9th- Wednesday 11. Anybody up there over that time?… The two fold comes in, in that some direction would be great, although if we’re not alone, we’re prob gonna need to carry up the tent (might anyway) and possibly some ear-muffs! LOL!
Anybody spending time up there over that period?
Cheers.
PS, tents full incase anybody was wondering!

he brad - so you're marrying the girl all climbers dream off..... :thumright

was at tafelberg a couple of weeks ago. some advice:
spout cave is HUGE and bomber - can easily sleep 12 people. just no honeymoonstuff if other guys are there
there are a few lesser but adequate caves in the area; fairly easy to find - unfortunately some of them have been used as toilet areas.
make sure you find the drip&pool at the spout - other water is a long walk away. when you go look for it, do not immediately hug the cliffs the as you exit spout cave (as per the guidebook description) -1st walk over the neck and a little down the gully on a well marked path; then tend right and hug the cliffs.
all "easy" AdK routes are sandbagged. seriously. think 3 grades harder (except maybe for "energy")
the walk-in is hard. forget 3 hours (unless your pack weighs like nothing). altitude gain of 950m.

awesome awesome awesome place. enjoy & congrats!
