Next week has lots in stall for armchair mountaineers...
The first-Tuesday social features the Devil's Tooth in the Drakensberg, as well some history, alternative routes and enchaimnents.
Come and train on the wall beforehand, and sip your favourite beverage while Sam, Rob and Roger regale us! (Tues 2nd October, 7:30 for 8pm)
Three brave Cape Town friends of various levels of climbing ability and fitness decided it was time to prove they were real men and take on what could be argued to be South Africa's finest and most aesthetic mountaineering challenge (from a distance): the Devil's Tooth in the Drakensberg.
The Devil's Tooth was climbed via a base camp on the Inner Tower and a tyrolean traverse from the Tooth back to the Tower. An ascent was also made of the microspire Toothpick and a happy-endings scamper up the Angus-Leppan route on the Sentinel. All of these will feature in the show, alongside a brief history lesson of climbing on the Tooth with the possible inclusion of some weird and wobbly bits.Presented by Sam Jack, with reality checks from Rob Zipplies and side chirps from Roger Diamond.
Also don't forget the Reel-Rock Tour at CityRock the next day on Wed 3rd October at 7pm. R60 entrance at the door.
