I would like to make a mission to Matroosberg.

Whom would I contact if I dont need a guide and just want to do my own thing with some experienced friends who can Hike, Climb and have all our own gear?

Ask the landowner (i.e. the Matroosberg reserve) if you may go without a guide. They have made exceptions in the past. You need their permission to do the kloof anyway.

I don't think Groothoek kloof actually lies on Matroosberg Reserve property (most of it anyway) The land belongs to the farmer on the de Doorns side of the mountain, and this is where you come out of the kloof at the bottom, so you need to arrange with him to leave a vehicle there etc... I don't have contact details, but the MCSA should probably be able to help you out. Obviously you still need to arrange access through Matroosberg Nature reserve, but this shouldn't be a problem.

One of the best kloofing trips in the country, I think! Enjoy!
