Yes there is an unofficial one in Centurion. We have access to a basement in an office block which has has nice bouldering wall in it for over 10 years now... We can supply you with an access card to appease the security guards...send me a mail colinc@satobiodiesel.co.za

Hey Colin.

I wanted to find out if there is a climbing gym somewhere in or near Centurion and I stumbled upon this post. Myself and a buddy are new to the climbing game and have headed off to Kings Kloof a couple of times and attempted a few climbs. We soon realised that we are “WAY” too ambitious and we are nowhere near good enough to blotch ourselves up 18 + gradings. Motivated to conquer those climbs that humiliated us, we want to get to a climbing wall and practise some techniques. Would we be able to climb with you guys at your “unofficial” gym? How does it work?

The closest is probably The Barn in Pta East. They have quite a few grades to pick from :)

Hi

Pop in to St Peters, we on Witkoppen, near Lonehill. We also offer courses for beginners to improve their climbing.

I think Pta University allows non-students to climb on their wall on a Tuesday evening. Not sure but can find out for you.

Every Tuesday evening MCSA climbs at the wall on the LC De Villiers sports grounds in Hatfield/Brooklyn.
We climb 6-8pm then pack up and go get a quick pizza at the best pizza place in Pta down the road (pizza Bravo's).
You can climb for free 3 times and then we ask that you join MCSA (you sign a indemnity and register).
Because it is free and MCSA provides all the ropes, etc. it gets a bit crowded. So this is not the best place to come and try your "Lead climbing" skills. Once the ropes are up, they stay up so everyone can climb.
If you do want to lead climb, arrive early (5:30 ish) to help set up the routes OR stay a bit later. IF the crowd thins out enough before 8pm, we could perhaps pull a route or two and you can lead.

Its a great place to hone you skills and also work on your stamina. There are 3 long routes of about 26m. For a gym type of climb that is very long (with no rest place else than "hang dogging" it).

Pretoria MCSA is known as the "Magalies" section (google it if you want to join)
