first guys ,is the weather ok to climb there from now on ?
If yes ,going there alone ,am i likely to find climbing partner at the nearby camp ?
Anyone going?

I ll be in Durban in a couple of days and continue working my way down south and stop anywhere i can climb.
I have no car but i m prepared to share petrol/rent cost.
I carry full gear and also camping gear that can accommodate 2.

Your suggestion?
Pascal

The weather will be quite hot, but ok if you climb early, take a break & climb again late afternoon. Unlikely to easily find other climbers.

So I was just up there this weekend for the first time. and what a great spot, the main crag that is, the others are super sharp and not really worth climb.

We bumped into a group of climbers from Durbs, but that was the extent of the climbers there.

I gets pretty hot at this time of year and we only climbed after 2pm, even though the main crag was in the shade from a little earlier.

Hope this helps.

Wes

Hi there

When are you planning to head to Oudtshoorn?

Many people climb at Oudtshoorn during the holidays. A large contingent is heading to Oudtshoorn between 15-23 Decembers. People mostly stay at De Hoek, you'll have no trouble finding a belayer if you base yourself there. A couple of guys (including me) holiday in the George/Knysna area and will be around until after New Year. Obviously we don't drive through every day, I usually head out when the weather is a little cooler. PM me if you want to swop phone numbers. Note that there is no reception at De Hoek.
