have you thought about phoning the supplier? I am probably sitting 4m from the solution to your problem: a trigger kit. please email me size etc, and can't you approach us first before going onto a forum about this? we emailed each other this morning!

Good Point Warren G!

I have used these cam kits on many of my Camalots - it is in fact one of the great things about BD customer service - you can even repair the old ladder style Camalots with them if you apply yourself...

I've done repairs on friends using Weedeater cord / fishing line, not sure you can do the same on a Ripalot.

1) No, I did not think of that! Cape Town in summer is very distracting.
2) Now the whole of the climbing forum knows the solution to the problem in the future.
3) Go get some mtn air
4) :-)

You could also do a home job as per this topic.

DMM does not supply trigger wire repair kits.

Warren,
What's the cost of a trigger wire repair kit? How many wire repairs per kit?

Recommended retail R119. We get very few requests for them- in the last year we sold 2! They do come with instructions how to replace them, however some people rather send them in to us, and I generally repair/replace the triggers. I say repair as some units can be repaired which is cheaper for the customer and faster for us.

I have some small non-BD cams, but at the time the supplier of those units didn't have trigger kits to replace the damaged unit I had at that time, and so I spent ages trying to find someone wiling to crimp the cable for me. Bike shops normally ran in fear and refused to even look at it.

Just use trace wire (for fishing) and buy a couple crimps from the same shop while you at it.
You can even add some crimp covers if you want to keep things extra neat.

You can use this fishing link to get the basics of how to put it all together.
