Climbing at Spitzkoppe

Post by Rob P » Sat May 13, 2017 2:45 pm

Hello all,

I'm a visiting climber originally from Cape Town but living in France. I'm planning a trip to Spitzkoppe in late June to mid July and am hoping to find a climbing partner who is keen to climb some of the longer routes and maybe have a go putting up some new ones.

I'm keen to go for any time frame but probably for at least 5 days. I'm a qualified mountain guide and have all the kit and a rental car. I'll be planning to drive up from Cape Town.

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob,
On my way to Rundu for a medical project,t I will travel around Windhoek-Spitzkoppe-Etosha 27th june -> 4th july, spending a bit more time in Spitzkoppe if a climbing opportunity arises.
I haven't looked at the tops yet, and don't know what grades (in French...) you want to climb, so I don't know if my modest level (5c-6a) is of any interest for you. Working in mountain rescue, I'd say I'm quite comfortable with safety &Co. No experience in bolting.
I'm French-German, but live in Switzerland since ages.
Let me now if you're interested to catch up
Cheers
Katharina
