Waterval Boven September

Post by stujones52 » Thu Jun 01, 2017 12:28 pm

Hi, I'm looking to fly from Glasgow to S. Africa to climb at Waterval about the 30th of August for 3 weeks. It's likely I will have 3 days off in the middle of the trip to go to Kruger National park. I will need to hire a car to get from the airport and looks like roc n rope is a good option for accommodation. It would be good to know if anyone is available to climb with, I wouldn't expect it to be the same person/'s. I lead upto 22, but really looking to sample as much climbing as possible. Be good to hear from folks before I start booking flights etc.

Hi B, thanks for your reply,
found one of your post's about weekday climbing, is that your availability? Just so I can get an idea to make plans. I'm thinking at the moment that, I would be ready to climb from the 1st of September right through to the 8th, then go to Kruger park for 3 days, then climb again till the 19th, before heading home, does this work for you? How many days from that are you free for?
If you PM me we could swap some details and maybe see about a chat, FB, whatsapp?
Be great to climb with a local and hope you have some projects to climb so I don't get too broken!!!!!

Hey guys! I'm in the same boat. Likely coming out to Waterval Boven in early September and also looking at a Kruger trip (among others). Would love to get on a rope with someone. I doubt I'll bring more than my shoes/harness/belay. I've been climbing for about 10 years and am knowledgeable but not a very strong climber. Sport ~5.10c/d lead; Trad 5.9 leader. I'll happily follow harder.

Get me in on this!

Hey,
Are you still looking for a climbing partner ? I will travel through SA in September, arriving tomorrow;) and I would love to climb at least for a few days. Waterval would be best for me in the next days, as we fly to Johannesburg.. ok, let me know if you are interested. I am ver experienced in lead climbing on sport and multipitch, not too much on trad. My climbing level should be min. 6b in leading.. I have climbed much harder but currently I am out of shape..

Stuart, you'll be hankering for polished Dumby, horizontal sleet and TCA in no time at all.

Hi manfredglijum,
thanks for your message, unfortunately I have had to cancel my plans to come over due to lack of partners and I'm not sure how to cancel the post
