Oorlogs Kloof closed?

Post by rasmus » Sat Jun 09, 2018 9:30 am

Yesterday we wanted to climb in Oorlogs Kloof in Montagu. We went to the Van der Merwe's to ask, and the lady told me that the kloof is no longer accessible for climbers. The new owners have put up an electric fence, are busy building a cottage and climbing is no longer allowed.

Anybody know anything about this? I was kind of surprised as I hadn't seen any access issues here...

Hi,
Yes... I recently learned about the new owners. We have their details and will be in contact with them soon to discuss what can be done.
There are no issues as such, just new owners who don't know who, how, what, where... I am hopeful that we can come to some sort of arrangement.

Will let you know how things go.

Great, thanks.

Would be a shame to not be able to access some of the classics in Oorlogs. Good luck negotiating! :thumleft:
