We were in Boven this weekend and hit Tranquilitas looking for the climb called "Chimneying Tammy" according to the printed route guide. We walked in and proceeded down the crag to what looked like the right place. Big "buttress" with a distinctive chimney forming between it and the main wall. We scrambled up and into the corner to find a climb .... only to see that written on the wall was "AMAC" and not what we were expecting.

Are these two climbs the same thing?
Or were we in the wrong place completely?

Hey Ryan

You were lost. Chimneying Tammy in the Grunt area takes the recess right of Little Bonsai into a distinct chimney cave-like area.

You were in the Malaria area AMAC stands for Alex's Mouse au Chocolat, an awesome 17 opened by Alard Hufner.

This probably means that you did not print out the updates from the WIKI before your recent visit to 'Boven ? -

Awesome climb though!
Pity I didn't climb it out and had to leave a quickdraw behind .... anybody feel like retrieving it for me? *sighs*

Next time we go I will make sure we print out the updates!

I have your draw. We climbed AMAC and found your draw up near the top. Guess I should have left it with Gustav as it is now in Botswana. E-mail me at carl dot bauer at info dot bw and we'll make a plan to get it back to you.

LOL!

Me thinks you can hang on to it as a trophy! :D

That climb has my name on it!
Especially the bolt above the one where you found my draw .... jeesh i was soooooooo close to clipping the thing, but as i reached for the rope to clip my ultra sticky shoes decided to part ways with da rock!

I would've love to have seen the move up there ....

Ah well, maybe next time!
