Yes, I agree. An indication of salary always help in decision-making...

The first rule of successful job hunting: ask the salary question last.

I have to agree with the guys asking for at least some indication of the salary - no use spending time on interviews etc. when in the end the salary expectations on both sides are totally incompatible. When the applicant then approaches you, both parties know it's a question of finding common ground, and the finer details of pay and benefits can be sorted out in the end, as you said.

And don't use the old "commensurate with experience" line. Just means long hours and low pay.

Long hours - not really, standard 8.5 hour day...if you want long hours work as the manager at Pick 'n Pay.

Odd hours - yes we work strange hours, i suppose not many climbers want to work to 9pm but at least we only start at 11am...late morning sleep in, get the shopping or banking done and best of all you miss the traffic

Pay - not to shabby, i have heard what some people earn and we are spoilt at CityROCK for what we do as a job. Good pay, incentives, medical aid... nothing to complain about.

And not to sound like a suckup, If you put in hard work and you are dedicated to the job then i garantee you it does not go un-noticed. Robert and Charles look after their employees and if you are in need will go out of their way to help you out when you need it the most.

All in all CityROCK is not a bad place to work, we have fun, laugh out loud and get to climb.
Hell i have been here nearly 5 years...if i have survived then it aint all that bad.

a friend once told me that there's no such thing as a crap job in sa anymore... its just called a job now...

wake up people, times are tuff, and to work is a blessing...

and to work in climbing... closest thing to heaven a2me...

i do think that some of the people @ c/rock is a bit stuck up sometimes though, but there's room for all of us under the sun, i suppose...
