Montagu is in flood, don't bother coming up for the weekend.
We're not in Montagu ourselves but I just got off the phone with Stuart Brown...

Most of De Bos is still there but the area left of the Boma including trees / fencing and anything else once there is now gone!!!
The big round braai on the left is completely covered in Sand.

The Padstal's nursery is gone, the Avalon Springs have lost 7 bungalows, Stuart heard large rocks bouncing down the river from his bedroom last night.
10 guests were air lifted by helicopter from the Vines guest lodge. The pedestrian bridge (en route to Bad Kloof) was washed away
The Caravan park is obviously under water and most of Montagu is without power and water

Cogmans Kloof is obviously closed as well. Stuart also reports seeing a fridge going past De Bos

Pic nr 6 is the little hut where you pay to get into Badkloof.

shit that's bad! we have friends that own a few wine farms in the surrounding area, about 10km from Montagu... hope their vineyards are still standing. bad bad news for the fruit industry, really bad news for winemaking. 2009 will probably be the vintage to avoid when buying wine.
