Some of us met Majka Burhardt, freelancer for Climbing Magazine in the USA. She was here a year ago. Read her article Country Style.
And before you are allowed to comment you have to read this one as well: Greg Child's 2004 article entitled Technicolor Darkness, published in Outside Magazine.

I seriously doubt it.
A photo of one of South Africa's premier crags (that shall go on to remain nameless) was placed in Climbing Mag a few years ago and people have not flocked to it (however people do Google the name a lot!!)
Another reason for people not to come here is that SA is an expensive destination to fly to (in comparison with other climbing destinations).
Not to mention that most foreigners end up in Rocklands.

p.s. Whats a Curry Village :?

curry village = accomodation, eateries, shops etc in Yosemite Park.
ie: no conveniences at crags here.

i dont think that theres much to worry about! In the past 6months I've seen about 10 articles in the major mags ( Climbing, Rock n Ice, Urban Climber even Outside) and if people have started flocking in by now that means that they're not going to.

I think the articles are written in such a was as to 'wow' readers rather than intice them to actually grow a pair and travel some.

Besides the price of travel is super high and no dirt bad climber is going to take out his life savings just to brag about how he made the 10th acsent on a problem that he cant even pronounce correctly! LOL

cheers...
