The National Finals will be held on 2 May at a brand new area at Redhill, dubbed "Coppermine". The competition will start at 11am and end at 6pm with prize-giving and the after-party taking place at the MCSA clubhouse (97 Hatfield Street, Cape Town) at 8pm. The program for the weekend is as follows:

Friday, 1 May: (optional)
CityRock is hosting a fun bouldering session, bring and braai, and a premier of the lastest bouldering movie (which features SA's Rocklands).
cost : R50
4pm - 6pm : bouldering
6pm - 8pm : braai (bring own meat or buy at the spar 2mins walk away)
8pm : "PURE - a bouldering flick by Chuck Fryberger" premier

Saturday, 2 May:
10:30am : meet at the Redhill - Coppermine parking lot
11am - 6pm : bouldering competition - national outdoor finals
8pm : prize-giving and after-party at the MCSA clubhouse (drinks available at the bar)

Sunday, 3 May:
optional day of bouldering around Cape Town, location to be decided on by those who are interested...

- The MCSA has allowed climbers to sleep over at the clubhouse on Saturday night after the party, so if you would like to take them up on the offer, bring your bouldering pad and a sleeping bag to sleep on. There are showers and toilets, but no beds, just a large hall.

- Everyone is welcome to come along and support or climb at the new area, but please bear in mind that competitors have right of way.

According to weathersa (slangkop forecast - near kommetjie) light showers are expected on Saturday and Sunday is partly cloudy. Not ideal. Even an indoor contingency plan might not be a bad idea.

i'm hoping that the anti-rain dances i've been doing all week are going to work, looks like its worked today so we'll hold thumbs for saturday... its a 30% chance of rain so hopefully we can still climb between the drizzles...

sunday's forecast is looking much better however that's when everyone's leaving so turn-out will probably be low.

i think if push comes to shove we'll move indoors but IFF...

either way, i'll keep dancing.
